Basketball Game Preview: Maxwell Wildcats vs. Perkins County Plainsmen

The Maxwell Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Perkins County Plainsmen at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

It was a proper cat-fight when Maxwell challenged Dundy County-Stratton on Thursday. Maxwell was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Dundy County-Stratton. The Wildcats have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Perkins County played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 63-18 defeat at the hands of Sedgwick County. The game marked the Plainsmen's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Maxwell now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Perkins County, they moved to 7-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Maxwell ended up a good deal behind Perkins County in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, losing 54-35. Can Maxwell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
