Softball Game Preview: Midland Park Panthers vs. Wood-Ridge Blue Devils

The Midland Park Panthers will challenge the Wood-Ridge Blue Devils at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Wood-Ridge took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Midland Park, who comes in off a win.

Midland Park took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against New Milford, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers skirted past the Knights 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Wood-Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Waldwick, falling 18-2.

Brooke Stellato was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Isabella Catanzaro also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Midland Park's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Wood-Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
