Basketball Recap: Atkins Takes a Loss

Atkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Mayflower Eagles, falling 74-48. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Eagles are ranked 104th).

Atkins' loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Mayflower, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Looking ahead, Atkins will take on Dover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dover will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Atkins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mayflower, they will venture away from home to square off against Two Rivers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
