Football Recap: Okeechobee Takes a Loss

Okeechobee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Centennial Eagles, falling 28-8. The Brahmans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Chris Evans threw for 41 yards and one touchdown. Matthew May was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards. On the ground, Ignacio Gomez rushed for 111 yards.

Okeechobee's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Centennial, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.

Coming up, Okeechobee will venture away from home to square off against Port St. Lucie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Brahmans will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Centennial, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Treasure Coast at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
