Baseball Game Preview: Lone Pine Eagles vs. Mammoth Huskies

Lone Pine is 1-9 against Mammoth since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles will square off against the Huskies at 3:15 p.m. Lone Pine will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Lone Pine had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Mojave last Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 18-1 victory. That looming 18-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Meanwhile, Mammoth came up short against Rosamond on Monday, falling 19-5. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Roadrunners: they've now lost four in a row.

DJ Gray made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Lone Pine's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Mammoth, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Lone Pine couldn't quite get it done against Mammoth in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 10-6. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
