Basketball Recap: Eureka Comes Up Short

Eureka lost against Webster Groves back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eureka Wildcats took a hard 58-40 fall against the Webster Groves Statesmen. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Statesmen are ranked 15th).

This is the second loss in a row for Eureka and nudges their season record down to 13-8. As for Webster Groves, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eureka will square off against Kirkwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Webster Groves, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chaminade at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Webster Groves' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 games.
