Softball Recap: Crescent Valley Takes a Loss

Crescent Valley blew South Albany out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday South Albany got their revenge. The Raiders fell just short of the Redhawks by a score of 18-16. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redhawks earlier this season, when they won 21-6.

Ashley Howitt was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Peyton Orderman also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Crescent Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for South Albany, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crescent Valley will square off against Silverton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Foxes will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Albany, they will take on Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Redhawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
