Softball Game Preview: Lawrence North Wildcats vs. Hamilton Southeastern Royals

Lawrence North hasn't had much luck against Hamilton Southeastern recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will head out to challenge the Royals at 5:30 p.m. Lawrence North has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lawrence North's last matchup with Fishers could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Wildcats came up short against the Tigers, falling 19-7. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Lawrence North saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Moss, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another was Victoria Guyse, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Hamilton Southeastern got themselves on the board against Avon on Tuesday, but Avon never followed suit. They had just enough and edged out the Orioles 2-0. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Orioles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Grace Swedarsky's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addison Richmond, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Sophia Feher also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Hamilton Southeastern hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Avon struck out nine times.

Lawrence North's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hamilton Southeastern, their record now sits at 7-4.

Lawrence North suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Hamilton Southeastern in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
