Baseball Recap: Enochs Gets the Win

Enochs hadn't done well against Pitman recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Enochs Eagles had just enough and edged out the Pitman Pride 6-5. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 8-2 victory the Pride walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Owen Kellert tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Davian Garcia was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jack Thorning, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Enochs and bumps their season record up to 6-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Pitman, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-6.

Enochs will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pitman: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
