Baseball Preview: Blue Mountain Eagles vs. Whitehall Zephyrs
The Blue Mountain Eagles will head out to face off against the Whitehall Zephyrs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Blue Mountain proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 12) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Kutztown 2-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Whitehall, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past William Allen 5-4.
Nik Christman looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last seven matchups.
