Recap: Bronaugh Wildcats vs. Chilhowee Indians
The Bronaugh Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight defeat. They were dealt a 60-32 defeat at the hands of Chilhowee. Bronaugh has not had much luck with Chilhowee recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Bronaugh's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gretchen Banes, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Brundridge, who scored four points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Bronaugh struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.
Bronaugh has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season. As for Chilhowee, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Bronaugh will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Miami at 6:00 p.m. Miami is coming into the match with four straight losses on the road, meaning Bronaugh will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Chilhowee, they will challenge Osceola at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
