Recap: Chaputnguak Shaman vs. Nelson Island Islanders
The Chaputnguak Shaman pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-58 to Nelson Island. Chaputnguak has not had much luck with Nelson Island recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Chaputnguak still got an impressive performance from Ashton Matthew, who scored 25 points. Adrian Post was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Nelson Island's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charles Maxie, who scored 27 points. Another player making a difference was Gordon Pitka, who scored 19 points.
Chaputnguak's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Nelson Island, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaputnguak will take on Ayaprun at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nelson Island, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tournament Opponent at 2:00 p.m. on January 19th.
