Recap: Mariemont Warriors vs. Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS
The Mariemont Warriors put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 62-45 win over Madeira. Given Mariemont's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Madeira is ranked 601st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madeira's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Lauterbach, who scored five points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Aj Rockwell, who scored 12 points.
Mariemont pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Madeira, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mariemont will be home for the holidays to greet Clermont Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Madeira will be home for the holidays to greet Georgetown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
