Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Douglass walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Central Heights Vikings on Thursday as they made off with a 19-4 victory. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kane Ast made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs.

In other batting news, Bronsyn Knisley was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Laver, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Douglass kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Douglass and bumps their season record up to 12-9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Central Heights, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-4.

As of now, neither Douglass nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
