While most of the teams in the Xcellent 50 National Baseball Rankings have completed their season, there were still a few teams on the move last week.

St. Xavier (Louisville, Ky.) made the biggest jump as it went from No. 14 to No. 5 in the rankings thanks to beating Highlands (Fort Thomas, Ky.) in the Kentucky state championships. The state of Kentucky is one of the few states to run a single-division state tournament. The state crown is the eighth in school history for the Tigers.

The only other team making a move was Canon-McMillan (Canonsburg, Pa.), which entered the Xcellent 50 at No. 50 after beating Bensalem for the Pennsylvania Class 6A state championship. Bensalem defeated La Salle College (Wyndmoor, Pa.), which was ranked No. 50 last week, in the 6A semifinals.

The final Xcellent 50 rankings will not appear next week, but will run on July 2. All-American teams are scheduled for July 3-12.
