Baseball Recap: Bloomfield's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Bloomfield came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Kirtland Central Broncos 14-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-1 back in March.

Troy Jaramillo made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Jaramillo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trae Woods, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Cable Carruth was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Bloomfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Bloomfield's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Kirtland Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will square off against Gallup at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bengals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.47 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kirtland Central, they will face off against Miyamura at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
