Preview: Boyle County vs. Wayne County
Wayne County may have come out ahead in their last matchup, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Boyle County at 7:30 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Wayne County, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Wayne County didn't have too much trouble with Warren East last Friday as they won 57-40.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up at the half for Boyle County and Danville, but Boyle County stepped up in the second half. Boyle County enjoyed a cozy 34-17 win over Danville.
Their wins bumped Wayne County to 2-0 and Boyle County to 3-0. In their victory, Boyle County relied heavily on junior Landen Bartleson, who rushed for 52 yards and 3 touchdowns; a key strategy for Wayne County will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
