Preview: Culver Community Cavaliers vs. Washington Township Senators
Culver Community has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Washington Township Senators at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you drain six more threes than your opponent, a fact Culver Community proved on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 46-26 margin over Trinity.
Jack Rodgers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The match was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adria Guasp, who scored nine points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Washington Township got the win against Hammond Academy of Science & Tech on Wednesday by a conclusive 54-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Washington Township.
Culver Community pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22 points. As for Washington Township, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Culver Community came up short against Washington Township in their previous matchup back in January of 2015, falling 70-65. Can Culver Community avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
