Basketball Game Preview: Glenwood Springs Demons vs. Douglas County Huskies

The Glenwood Springs Demons will square off against the Douglas County Huskies at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Glenwood Springs has three straight victories, Douglas County has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Glenwood Springs is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since February 6, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Eagle Valley 60-58.

Meanwhile, Douglas County played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Rock Canyon and fell 78-48. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Jaguars are ranked 32nd).

Glenwood Springs will have to contain Vaughn Baldwin as he made an impact in Douglas County's last game. He went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Wynne, who posted six points.

Glenwood Springs is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Douglas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
