Baseball Recap: Riviera Prep Comes Up Short

Riviera Prep had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it six. They lost 12-2 to the Ransom Everglades Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-3 two weeks ago.

Riviera Prep saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicolas Rivas, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Ransom Everglades, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

On Ransom Everglades' side, Enrique MacIas was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. MacIas was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025.

Coming up, Riviera Prep will venture away from home to challenge Coral Park at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ransom Everglades, they will host Mater Bay Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rays have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
