La Habra is 1-7 against Gahr since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Highlanders are taking a road trip to challenge the Gladiators at 3:15 p.m. La Habra will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
La Habra's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Sunny Hills.
Not much got past Maddison Payne, who gave up just a hit to keep Sunny Hills off the board. Payne has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Georgia Rickenbacker, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Milee Valencia, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Gahr suffered their biggest loss since April 1st on Wednesday. They lost 11-2 to La Serna.
Gahr saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Magana, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
La Habra's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Gahr, they now have a losing record of 10-11-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. La Habra hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Gahr struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
La Habra couldn't quite finish off Gahr in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Highlanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
