Preview: Ellington Knights vs. Morgan Huskies
The Ellington Knights will be playing at home against the Morgan Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Ellington is ranked 96th, while Morgan is ranked 76th).
Ellington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against Stafford/Somers/East Windsor as Ellington made off with a 31-6 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ellington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tristan Neville, who picked up 150 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Neville's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards. Another player making a difference was Aaron Ladr, who threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 40 points the game before, Morgan were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were beaten by Rockville 49-6.
Ellington's victory bumped their record up to 3-3. As for Morgan, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Everything went Ellington's way against Morgan when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as Ellington made off with a 48-28 victory. Will Ellington repeat their success, or does Morgan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
