Softball Recap: Arlington Catholic Comes Up Short

St. Mary hit Arlington Catholic with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell 9-5 to the Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 30-1 back in April.

Bela Pagan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Ari Murgo also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Arlington Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for St. Mary's, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

As of now, neither Arlington Catholic nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
