Football Recap: Pleasant Grove Takes a Loss

Pleasant Grove had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-2 to make it ten. They came up short against the Westlake Thunder, falling 45-19. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Although Pleasant Grove took the loss, they still got scores from Adam Wright, Corbin Robbins, and Connor Ybarra.

As for Westlake, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 29.5 points thus far.

A big part of Westlake's victory came down to the chemistry between BOSTEN FOUNTAINE and his top target MALIK SIKA. FOUNTAINE threw for 478 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt while SIKA picked up 327 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. SIKA's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards.

Coming up, Pleasant Grove will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Green Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westlake, they are taking a road trip to square off against Bingham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Thunder's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
