Football Recap: Pleasant Grove Comes Up Short

Pleasant Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 45-19 to the Westlake Thunder. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 31-20 to the Thunder when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Although Pleasant Grove took the loss, they still got scores from Adam Wright, Corbin Robbins, and Connor Ybarra.

A big part of Westlake's victory came down to the chemistry between BOSTEN FOUNTAINE and his top target MALIK SIKA. FOUNTAINE threw for 478 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt while SIKA picked up 327 receiving yards and a pair of scores. SIKA really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 75 yards.

Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Westlake, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Pleasant Grove will face off against Green Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westlake, they will take on Bingham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Thunder's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
