Football Recap: Elk Grove Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Elk Grove lost to Cosumnes Oaks back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Thundering Herd snuck past the Wolfpack with a 19-13 victory.

Cosumnes Oaks lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Abby Greene, who picked up 130 receiving yards and one TD. Avery Nogosek was another key player, throwing for 230 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Elk Grove pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.8 points on average over those games. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elk Grove will face off against Monterey Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thundering Herd will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Laguna Creek at 7:00 p.m.
