Basketball Recap: Guardian Christian Academy Royal Knights vs. The New Community School Sabers
The Guardian Christian Academy Royal Knights came into Tuesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against The New Community School on Tuesday as Guardian Christian Academy made off with a 51-27 win. The victory was just what Guardian Christian Academy needed coming off of a 70-34 loss in their prior game.
Guardian Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaron Kuhn, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Kuhn is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tierre Brown, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Guardian Christian Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for The New Community School, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
Guardian Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Banner Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,074 points over their last 15 matchups. As for The New Community School, they will head out on the road to face off against the Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Stuart Hall presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Sabers in Virginia (the Dragons are ranked 136th, while the Sabers are ranked 444th).
