Softball Recap: Winton Woods Comes Up Short

Winton Woods extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-4 in the process. They lost 13-2 to the Milford Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 13-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Winton Woods saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alina Ellis, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

As for Milford, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Considering they have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Milford's side, they let Charley Johnson and Lanie McCoy run wild. Johnson went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while McCoy got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Gabby Jones also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

While Winton Woods had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
