Smithsburg won the last time they faced Liberty and things went their way on Friday too. The Smithsburg Leopards put the hurt on the Liberty Lions with a sharp 65-45 victory. The Leopards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Smithsburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Skyla Mastronardi out in front who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 14 boards. That's the most rebounds Mastronardi has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Claire Bono, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards.

Smithsburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Smithsburg's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.9 points. As for Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Smithsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty, they will face off against Winters Mill at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
