Football Game Preview: John Carroll Patriots vs. Archbishop Curley Friars

John Carroll hasn't had much luck against Archbishop Curley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Patriots will welcome the Friars at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, John Carroll came up short against St. Paul's and fell 21-14.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Archbishop Curley and Pallotti, and Pallotti kept the tradition alive. The contest between the Friars and the Panthers didn't end well, with the Friars falling 21-6.

Even if they lost, Archbishop Curley's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Bailen Boutz, Zion Harris, and Dylan Carter, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Pallotti's side was Boutz, who picked up a sack, forced two fumbles, and made eight total tackles.

John Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Archbishop Curley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

John Carroll was taken down by Archbishop Curley 35-7 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Patriots were down 28-0.
