The St. Michael's Horsemen will take on the Sandia Prep Sundevils in a tournament on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
St. Michael's is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 23-1 margin over Bosque on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Horsemen considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Chris Chavez and Lucas Stoll were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Chavez pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Stoll struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave Chavez a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Chavez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI and two runs, while Stoll scored a run while going 1-for-2.
