Volleyball Recap: Cashton Eagles vs. Fennimore Golden Eagles
With a playoff game on the line, Cashton rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Fennimore Golden Eagles out 3-2.
Cashton wouldn't go down easily and took Fennimore into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-19, 27-25, 25-27, 15-13.
Vivie Dempsey paced Cashton's offense, picking up 27 kills. Dempsey got some help from
Sammi Kleba and her 26 assists. Kleba was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Cashton's victory bumped their record up to 21-9. As for Fennimore, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-13 record.
Cashton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Mineral Point on the 26th. Fennimore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
