Softball Game Preview: Central Panthers vs. Silverton Foxes

The Central Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Silverton Foxes at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Central was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Crescent Valley on Monday. The Panthers blew past the Raiders 11-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the game before.

Meanwhile, Silverton got the win against West Albany on Monday by a conclusive 14-6. The Foxes haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Silverton, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

Central skirted past Silverton 1-0 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
