Basketball Game Preview: Junction City/St. Xavier Bluejays vs. Emporia Spartans

Junction City/St. Xavier hasn't had much luck against Emporia recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Junction City/St. Xavier Bluejays will head out to face off against the Emporia Spartans. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Junction City/St. Xavier is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 76-23 to Hayden, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd in Kansas, while the Wildcats are ranked 16th in Kansas).

Meanwhile, Emporia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Manhattan, falling 68-27. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly 41 points.

Junction City/St. Xavier's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8-1. As for Emporia, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14-3.
