Volleyball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Hernando Leopards. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Central took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-13, 25-22.

Isabella Colon paced Central's offense, picking up eight kills. Colon got some help from Lacie Bigger and her 11 assists. Bigger was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hernando, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Hernando Christian Academy on the 21st. As for Hernando, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Lecanto on the 21st.
