The Liberty Christian Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Missouri Military Academy Fighting Colonels at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Liberty Christian Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were outmatched by St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K and fell 79-34. The Eagles have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Liberty Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tommy Meyer, who posted ten points and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Dickson, who had seven points.
Meanwhile, Missouri Military Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap back in December of 2024 as they fell 58-53 to Veritas Christian Academy. The Fighting Colonels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Liberty Christian Academy will have to keep a close watch on Carson Mulvaney and Sebastian Manzur, a pair of players who had a big impact on Missouri Military Academy's prior game. Mulvaney put up five points and five rebounds, while Manzur earned five points and ten rebounds. Manzur has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played.
Liberty Christian Academy's record is now 9-5. As for Missouri Military Academy, their record is now 1-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Liberty Christian Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Missouri Military Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Liberty Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Missouri Military Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win.
