Baseball Recap: Bath County Takes a Loss

Bath County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Casey County Rebels.

Cooper Cox was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zane McCarty made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brayden Crouch, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Bath County's record now sits at 4-7-1. As for Casey County, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bath County will face off against Crestview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Casey County, they will take on Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
