Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Bloomington Purple Raiders
Lincoln entered their tilt with Bloomington on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bloomington Purple Raiders. This was a revenge matchup for the Railsplitters, as the team was forced to settle for a 2-1 loss when these two played two weeks ago.
Lincoln easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Behrends, who had seven kills, five aces, three digs, and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Peyton Sasse, who had 11 kills, eight digs, and two blocks.
Lincoln pushed their record up to 18-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Bloomington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-22 record this season.
