Cambridge was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Maxwell Wildcats. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Cambridge had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 25-18.

Brooklyn Holtze paced Cambridge's offense, picking up 12 kills. Holtze got some help from Mallory Springer and her 21 assists. Kolbryn Clason controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Maxwell lost, don't look at Ellys Gosnell. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs.

Cambridge's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Maxwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Coincidentally, Cambridge and Maxwell will both be playing South Loup the next time they take the court. The Trojans will head out to face South Loup at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
