Volleyball Recap: Evelyn Dwan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northwestern Regional over Canton

Northwestern Regional lost against Canton back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Highlanders fell 3-1 to the Warriors. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Northwestern Regional ultimately came up short, they really made Canton work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 32-30, 25-20, 23-25, 25-23.

Northwestern Regional's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evelyn Dwan, who had 16 digs.

Danielle Bae had a dynamite game For Canton., getting 45 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Bae has posted since back in September of 2024. Audrey Lindquist was another key player, getting 17 digs and two assists.

Northwestern Regional suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 3-2. As for Canton, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Northwestern Regional didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Granby Memorial on the 15th. Canton has also already played their next matchup (against Gilbert), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
