Baseball Recap: Glens Falls Find Success

Glens Falls had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 11-6-1 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Schuylerville Horses 6-5. That's two games straight that the Black Bears have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Hubert, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Glens Falls: the team is 6-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chace Davidson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Schuylerville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5-1. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs.

On Schuylerville's side, Alex Renner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ethan Warner, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Glens Falls and Schuylerville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Black Bears (ranked 149th) will meet Hudson Falls (ranked 342nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Schuylerville will take on Stillwater at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (72 vs. 441).
