Baseball Recap: Larue County Comes Up Short

While it was Larue County who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Meade County who put up more. The Hawks fell just short of the Green Waves by a score of 6-5. The loss continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Green Waves: they've now lost four in a row.

Larue County got a good showing from Ayden Seidl, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Seidl has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Larue County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Skaggs, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Dekker Thomas was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Larue County's record now sits at 23-7-1. As for Meade County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 19-10.

Larue County and Meade County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Hawks (ranked 17th) will meet John Hardin (ranked 220th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Meade County will challenge Bethlehem at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (49 vs. 138).
