Basketball Recap: Vanguard Academy Beethoven Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

If IDEA College Prep wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Vanguard Academy Beethoven, they should've done a better job of containing Yandel Rosell. Vanguard Academy Beethoven breezed by the IDEA College Prep Griffins to the tune of 71-28 on Tuesday thanks in part to Rosell, who went 11 of 16 en route to 22 points and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Erik Cantu, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points along with seven boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Vanguard Academy Beethoven is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for IDEA College Prep, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Vanguard Academy Beethoven and IDEA College Prep will both be playing IDEA Quest College Prep the next time they take the court. Vanguard Academy Beethoven will host IDEA Quest College Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while IDEA College Prep will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
