Football Recap: Highland Tech Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Highland Tech fell victim to East Gaston and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 34-0 defeat at the hands of the Warriors. The loss leaves the Rams still looking for their first win of the season.

Brandon Rice threw for 39 yards on two of 12 attempts. Michael Smith was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards.

East Gaston's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Leavy, who rushed for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Mari Chambers was another key back, rushing for 86 yards and one TD.

Highland Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for East Gaston, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Highland Tech didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-12 victory against Bessemer City on the 10th. As for East Gaston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 21-14 loss against Cherryville on the 10th.
