Baseball Game Preview: Aquinas Falcons vs. Arrowhead Christian Eagles

Aquinas has gone 8-2 against Arrowhead Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Falcons will host the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. The last five games Aquinas has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Aquinas' win against Linfield Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lions a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by just one run.

Chris Alzaga tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Aquinas' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Estaban Olazaba, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Arrowhead Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kaiser.

Aquinas' win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Arrowhead Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
