Softball Game Preview: Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights vs. Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs

The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights will face off against the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond lost 21-3 to Casey-Westfield on Thursday. The Knights have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

MACKENZIE CONDILL made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of SOPHIA MONTS, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Mahomet-Seymour came up short against Westville on Friday, falling 14-6.

Kalista Granadino was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Jordan Uebelhoer was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond came out on top in a nail-biter against Mahomet-Seymour in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 24-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
