Basketball Recap: Hanalani Comes Up Short

Hanalani saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell to the Ayala Bulldogs 56-51. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Royals came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 38th in Hawaii, while the Bulldogs are ranked 258th in California).

This is the second loss in a row for Hanalani and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Ayala, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Hanalani will face off against Hawaii Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Ayala, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Punahou at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
