Big Game from Howard As Walnut Grove Fell 20-17

Starting off the list is Walnut Grove's Emadd Howard, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Howard rushed for 260 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.

Walnut Grove and Madison County are set to duel on Friday. The Warriors had to take a loss when they last met the Red Raiders, but Howard had little to do with the loss: he rushed for 126 yards. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Payton Shaw stepped things up a notch to give Eastside the 'W'. Nobody could stop Shaw as he threw for 236 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes.

Eastside's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Shaw and Eastside will venture away from home to take on Cedar Shoals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
