Softball Recap: Alcoa Starts Season with Win on the Road

Alcoa had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Clinton Dragons. The Tornadoes haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Alex Montgomery, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two).

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alcoa will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oneida at 5:00 p.m. on March 17th. As for Clinton, they will challenge Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
