League recap: Moorefield propelled to win by explosive offense

Potomac Valley II recap September 24, 2013

Moorefield led Potomac Valley II in scoring this week after putting up 33 points on Tucker County.

The Yellowjackets made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,944 from 7,928. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 33-14 victory over the Mountain Lions last week.

Pendleton County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcat feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Luke Yokum has thrown for 684 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Dyllan Wimer has 18 catches for 244 yards. Yokum also leads the league in rushing with 235 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Tygarts Valley takes on East Hardy. At the moment, the Bulldogs are in sixth, while the Cougars are in first.

Pendleton County lost in the closest game of the week to 20-18 Bath County. Yokum threw for 297 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 16 yards in the loss.
